FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We are looking for clients who have the desire to have their bookkeeping organized and reflective of their business’s financial activity now and in the future. Working with clients who are responsive to our communications in a timely manner, honest, and involved in financial decisions is very important to us. We care about your finances and understand that if everything is prepared accurately, you will be able to make company growth choices with confidence. L&L wants to be a member of your team in that endeavor!

What types of clients are you looking for?

who will be doing my books?

After both L&L and your company have a contract in place, an onboarding specialist will get your QBO account set up or re-organized, and task processes put in place. Once your accounting system is rolling smoothly, we may have another certified bookkeeper in our firm take over the regular work. The firms’ owner will always review your monthly financials and present them to you. We always have backup staff to service your account, in case of vacations or illnesses.

Can L&L do my taxes?

L&L does not prepare your tax returns – instead we work with your CPA firm to provide all of the necessary records at the end of the year to get your taxes done. Don’t have an accountant? We’re happy to provide you with the names of firms that we have seen excellent work from.

Why would I use L&L instead of hiring my own in-house bookkeeper?

If you have enough work for a full-time bookkeeper, we generally think it’s best to do so; however, some businesses don’t have enough work for even a part-time person. Because of the processes we put in place, and the knowledge of our accounting program and systems, we can do your work accurately and efficiently, saving you money over hiring a part-time bookkeeper, paying payroll taxes, and other benefits. Your emails are checked multiple times a day, so your requests are not piling up for when a part-time bookkeeper is available. We set-up systems so that you can easily take your work back in-house when your business grows to that point.

Do I need a bookkeeper if I have an accountant? What's the difference between the two?

Accountants and bookkeepers perform distinctly different tasks. Bookkeepers have the responsibility of maintaining their clients’ day-to-day records. Accountants use this information to provide advisory services, tax returns, and tax planning advice. Because our service fees are generally much lower than accounting firms, we can save you money by doing the ongoing bookkeeping your firm needs, then handing over the organized data to your accountant at the end of the year to get your return done.

What other small business cloud tools do you work with?
