After both L&L and your company have a contract in place, an onboarding specialist will get your QBO account set up and/or re-organized, and task processes put in place. Once your accounting system is rolling smoothly, our Accounting Operations Manager, with over 10 years of Public Accounting experience, will work in your account to further fine-tune everything. The last stop is assigning a lead bookkeeper to take over the regular work. This ensures that multiple people understand your account and can provide backup in case your lead bookkeeper is absent. The Accounting Operations Manager will always review your monthly financials before presenting them to you.

L&L does not prepare your tax returns – instead we work with your CPA firm to provide all of the necessary records at the end of the year to get your taxes done. Don’t have an accountant? We’re happy to provide you with the names of firms that we have seen excellent work from.

If you have enough work for a full-time bookkeeper, we generally think it’s best to do so; however, some businesses don’t have enough work for even a part-time person. Because of the processes we put in place, and the knowledge of our accounting program and systems, we can do your work accurately and efficiently, saving you money over hiring a part-time bookkeeper, paying payroll taxes, and other benefits. Your emails are checked multiple times a day, so your requests are not piling up for when a part-time bookkeeper is available. We set up all systems so you can take your work back in-house when your business grows to that point.

Accountants and bookkeepers perform distinctly different tasks. Bookkeepers have the responsibility of maintaining their clients’ day-to-day records. Accountants use this information to provide advisory services, tax returns, and tax planning advice. Because our service fees are generally much lower than accounting firms’, we can save you money by managing the day-to-day activities, then handing over the organized data to your accountant at the end of the year to get your return done.

Quickbooks Online has thousands of apps that work with various business types and situations. We’ll recommend apps that would be appropriate for your type of business.
SmartVault is used to house our clients’ financial records and documents. We can assign various people from your organization to access all or specific folders. You will have access at all times to your records.
Financial Cents helps us manage your tasks, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. We also use it to request items from your team with secure upload and download abilities.

Accounts payable and receivable, payroll registration and processing, receipt management, online banking ACH and wire services, and financial reporting are the base services, but we have experience in other financial areas as well.

Our hourly rate is $100/hour, charged by the quarter-hour. Our base monthly packages start at $500.

Not at all! Although we are located in Michigan, we have clients on both coasts. Working within Quickbooks Online, and using the technology that is available today, it’s easy to work together. We are also available to travel to your location initially (travel fees apply) to help restructure your system and meet with you and your staff personally.

L&L Bookkeeping strictly works within Quickbooks Online, so you have full visibility, control, and transparency of your books. If you are currently on Quickbooks Desktop or another software product, we can help move your data to the Quickbooks Online platform.
